Used vehicle sales during the first 10 months of the year rose 14.7% and foretell "a record" for 2010, predicted the president of the Automobile Chamber of Commerce (CEC), Prince Albert.

"The number of vehicles sold in the period from January to October 2010 shows that, missing two months to finish the year, and is actually a new record for sales of used cars," said Prince.

Meanwhile, a report by the CEC said that during the first 10 months of this year sold 1,256,972 pieces, which when compared with 1,095,780 cars sold in 2009, resulting in an increase of about 14 operations, 71% for the period.

Prince recalled that "the previous record had occurred in 2008 when 1,400,000 units were sold" used vehicles.

According to the report of the House, so did the comparison from month to month of 2009 since last October used car sales, with 126,775 individual transactions, recorded a rise of 6.70% over the same month last year, when are payable only 118,816 sales.

However, if the comparison is made with the previous month this year (September 2010), sales of those vehicles fell 12.72%. (September 145,247 units against 126,775, throws -12.72%).

The business leader said "there were, and there will be months seasonal and we do not handle us, but that is handled by the consumer. In fact, the context is given for continued sector growth," he said.

He also alluded to the delay in the delivery of cars Kilometer Zero (0km), and that "of course that affects our activity, because this is a market of supply and demand."

In this regard, predicted that "if the market certainly does not have the product that the public demand, will be used most in demand and logic is going to be narrowing the price difference between 0km and immediately used before."

Prince said "that's what's happening now", but added that "not all segments, but the most popular."

According to its assessment, the situation is worse in the countryside. "The interior is the big mover today. The numbers in large and small Provinces corroborate" he remarked, and said that the sale of used "is regionalized."
