In a plot twist worthy of a Netflix miniseries, Argentine judge Julieta Makintach just resigned — on the very day her impeachment could’ve gone forward.

Makintach, who was presiding over the explosive trial against the medical team accused of negligence in Diego Maradona’s 2020 death, is now at the center of her own legal drama. And yes, it involves secret cameras, a documentary called “Divine Justice,” and a whole lot of judicial chaos.

So what happened?

Earlier this year, Makintach — who had been specially assigned to the Maradona case in San Isidro — reportedly let a documentary crew into a courtroom during a live trial session. Not only that, but insiders say she helped them get in and even gave them a personal interview in her office.

Let that sink in.

The filming was first spotted by one of the defense attorneys, who noticed four people inside the courtroom with cameras and audio equipment. Turns out, they were from a production company working on a docuseries about the trial. The judge’s involvement was quickly exposed.

The fallout was immediate.

Both the defense and the prosecution were like, “This can’t be real,” and demanded the judge be removed from the case. A formal investigation was launched, and things escalated quickly.

The trial — which had already included emotional testimony from Maradona’s daughters and key witnesses — was thrown into complete disarray. All that testimony? Now nullified.

The cherry on top?

Today was supposed to be the day that determined whether Judge Makintach would face a political trial for her actions. Instead, she submitted her resignation just in time, effectively dodging that bullet.

Fans of justice and Maradona alike are now left wondering: will there ever be closure in the case of El Diez’s death?

One thing’s for sure — Argentina’s legal system just got a plot twist no one saw coming.
